NOBEL PRIZE WINNER
PROFESSOR ELIZABETH BLACKBURN
Public Lecture
Melbourne, Tuesday, 2 March 2010

The University of Melbourne, The Australasian Association of Clinical Biochemists, The Human Genetics Society of Australasia and The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, invite you to attend a public lecture by eminent Scientist and 2009 Nobel Prize Winner, Professor Elizabeth Blackburn on:

“TELOMERASE AND TELOMERE BIOLOGY”
Telomerase is an enzyme made up of RNA and protein that builds and stabilises telomeres, the ends of chromosomes. During ageing, telomere length decreases, an effect that is slowed down by telomerase. Most cancer cells have high telomerase activity. Our goal is to understand the mechanism of telomere action.
